Six kilometres. How far would you walk for a glass of water?

For children in communities across Africa and Asia, six kilometres can be the distance travelled each day to collect water.

This October, PAZZION Singapore is bringing the Global 6K for Water to Marina Bay in support of World Vision Singapore. The six-kilometre walk-and-run will take place on 3 October, over the Children’s Day weekend.

PAZZION, the Singapore-born footwear label founded in 2002, is better known for its feminine shoes and accessories than charity runs. For this event, the brand is bringing its community together for a six-kilometre walk-and-run around Marina Bay.

The six-kilometre distance represents the average journey many children make each day to collect water, often from sources that are unsafe to drink. During the event, participants will also learn more about the communities they are supporting and the challenges they face in accessing clean water.

The route starts and finishes at the Marina Bay Sands Waterfront Promenade outside ArtScience Museum, passing the Helix Bridge and Marina Barrage along the way. Participants can walk, jog or run the route.

Registration costs S$6. Each participant receives an event T-shirt, a S$10 PAZZION voucher and a personalised profile page introducing the children and communities supported through the event.

The first 200 sign-ups will also receive an event pack worth S$90, containing PAZZION merchandise, shopping vouchers and gifts from ELIXIR by Shiseido, Tily Tea and Amazin’ Graze.

At the finish line, refreshments from Whittard of Chelsea Singapore, OATSIDE and Dash Water will be served.

The Global 6K for Water supports World Vision’s work in providing sustainable clean water solutions to vulnerable communities across Africa and Asia. Participants can also share their personal profile pages with family and friends to garner support for their six-kilometre journey.
